Buffers define the surface
Referenced geometry buffers must be available for the importer to read the mesh. GLTF to STL cannot infer a missing surface from the JSON’s object names or from an image of the model.

Convert GLTF to STL using the scene file and its companion buffers. Export the imported mesh geometry as a binary STL for your printing software.

A glTF asset may arrive as a folder instead of a single model file. The .gltf document describes the scene, while other files supply its geometry and images. This page reads the selected resources together before exporting their supported mesh data.
It is intended for taking a static surface into a slicer, not for transferring the full interactive scene.
GLTF to STL is useful for a static prop or captured object delivered as a web asset. A scene containing cameras and lights may look like a complete presentation, but only supported mesh surfaces become the print model. The result does not include a render of the scene or a set of printer instructions.
The JSON can specify where vertices live without containing those vertices itself. A referenced .bin file supplies the numerical buffers. Without it, there may be no usable geometry to convert.
Some glTF documents embed their buffers as data URIs. In that case a separate BIN is unnecessary. The source’s resource references determine what needs to be selected.
STL carries triangle positions and surface normals. Cameras, animation tracks and visual materials are not part of that representation.
Referenced geometry buffers must be available for the importer to read the mesh. GLTF to STL cannot infer a missing surface from the JSON’s object names or from an image of the model.
Texture images do not become printable colour or relief. In a GLTF to STL output, a painted seam can disappear from view while a seam modelled as a groove remains part of the surface.
A glTF asset does not supply slicer settings, supports or proof that its surfaces enclose a solid. Set the intended physical dimensions and print preparation in your slicing application after obtaining the mesh.
Select the main glTF together with the files it references, preserving their filenames. This is a local file selection, not a request for the converter to search your disk or retrieve a remote folder.
If an export or download omitted a buffer, return to the source application and obtain the complete asset. Renaming a different file to .bin cannot reconstruct the missing data.
A complete GLTF to STL source may need several selected files even though the download is just one STL. Those inputs are dependencies of the same asset, not separate conversion jobs. Keep their names intact when moving the source between folders or obtaining it from a collaborator.
Yes, if its geometry buffers are embedded in the document. If it references external buffers, those files must also be supplied.
No. For GLTF to STL, a texture affects appearance, while a geometry buffer can contain the positions and indices needed to form the mesh. Missing geometry data can prevent conversion entirely.
No. The selection is for one main model and its dependencies. This page is not a batch converter or a scene-merging tool.
No. There is no animation sampling or frame export here. Bake the required poses into static meshes in the source application.
No. A successful GLTF to STL export writes the imported triangles into the STL itself. The source JSON, BIN and images remain useful for preserving the original asset, but they are not companion files for the STL download.
There is no node-selection control on this page. The export uses the imported mesh instances. Isolate the desired object in a scene editor first if the source also contains a floor, display stand or other geometry you do not want in the print.
